Respiratory System
Blood cells need oxygen to survive. The lungs perform the vital function of drawing fresh air into the body and expelling air that has been used, and airborne toxins. This system consists of:
- Lungs
- Trachea
- Throat
- Mouth
- Sinuses
The lungs are a “gas exchange” unit. The blood that enters is dark red in color. After being re-oxygenated, blood leaves the lungs regenerated and the color changes to a bright red.
Imbalances of the respiratory system often affect the immune, circulatory and nervous systems.
The Oxygen Supplier: The respiratory system is essential to the body’s growth and movement because it supplies oxygen, enabling the body to produce energy.
Some common Respiratory System concerns:
- Respiratory function
- Seasonal changes
- Cold weather season support
- Bronchial support
